What Room 17 has been up to

Bonjour everyone,

This is what Room 17 have been doing and learning about.

Out topic at the moment is Keeping Ourselves Safe. We have been learning the proper names for our body parts, our phone number and address and also about using words to share how we are feeling.

We have been doing lots of reading. Some of us have been learning about compound words and some of us have been learning about summarising what we read, some of us have also been learning about non fiction books (that means real books about true life).

In writing we have been concentrating on using capital letters and fullstops. We have been learning how to edit our work. We have been writing lots of recounts.

In maths we have been practising counting backwards. Some of us have been learning to count on from the biggest number to solve addition problems and some of us have been learning to use our knowledge of tens and ones to solve bigger addition problems.

We are very lucky to go and see Mrs Yeoman in Georgies on Friday morning to learn maori words and waiata.
